- 1 Hour - £25
Weekly private lessons will be charged half upfront, at the start of the month and this will secure your Childs space, this part payment is non-refundable. The remaining fee will be charged on the next months direct debit. If your child cannot make it to their lesson you will not be charged as long as 24 hours notice is given or in case of emergency (such as, child is sent home from school, ill or injured, on day of the class or if a family emergency arises). Any lessons missed due to adverse weather conditions or classes cancelled by LCI, will be fully refunded.
Any fees that are unpaid will result in an exclusion from class. Once the fees are paid your child may return to class.
Monthly private lessons will be charged at time of online booking and can be fully refunded if 24 hours notice is given or in case of emergency.
Direct Debit – Direct Debits are taken all year round from September 2024 until August 2025. Payments are taken by Stripe on the 1st of the month. Monthly costs are calculated by taking the yearly cost and dividing by 12 months (you will pay the same each month from September 2024 - August 2025 unless classes are amended).
Please note: If you choose to leave the school you must email hello@lcidancecentre.co.uk - 4 weeks notice must be given, failure to do so will result in payment being taken for this time period.
Refunds will not be issued for missed classes due to cancellation or public holiday – where possible, we will endeavour to arrange make-up lessons for classes cancelled by LCI Dance Centre or we will offer an alternative class.
CLASSES AND ATTENDANCE
The School will not be held responsible for classes cancelled due to circumstances beyond the School’s control. If it is necessary to cancel a class due to adverse weather conditions, or if a child cannot attend a class due to their participation in an LCI performance/exam/event, class fees will not be refunded.
Please ensure students are on time to class, and are also picked up on time.
Any child left unattended at the end of their class will be kept inside the building, but we may be unable to supervise them once the next class begins. Parent understands that if they are late picking their child up, their child will not be supervised and the parent takes full responsibility for their child’s safety and wellbeing should anything happen to them after their class time has ended.
Parents are permitted to wait in the upstairs waiting area before and during classes.
All classes run back to back on the timetable with a 3 minute gap between classes to allow children to leave and enter the studio, change shoes and grab a drink if needed.
Students of Primary School age (with the exception of P6/7, please see below) must be collected from the waiting room/hall/exit by a parent/carer or responsible adult. The teacher must be informed if persons other than the child’s parent or legal guardian will collect the child. Students under this age will not be permitted to leave unattended, unless the teacher is informed in advance.
Any Primary 6/7’s with permission or Secondary school pupils may leave the building without a guardian. I must be informed of any P6/7’s that are allowed to leave.
CORRECTIONS AND PHYSICAL TOUCH
Dancing is a physical skill and in order to help and facilitate the student’s learning, the teacher may physically guide a movement by touch. This will be in a professional manner and the intention of the contact will be made clear. Please contact the Principal if you have any queries about this. Absolutely no force will be ever be used.
If a child gets hurt during class the teacher will make sure to offer appropriate support and parents will be informed, if necessary. Ice packs and first aid kits are available in the studio. If the child needs a hug to help calm them, they will be given one.
UNIFORM AND APPEARANCE
All students are encouraged to wear the recommended uniform for each class. Uniforms ensure students look and feel confident in their surroundings and part of the LCI family.
Footwear is required for most classes and Miss Gemma will advise.
Hair should ALWAYS be off the face and neckline, neat and tidy preferably in a bun or French plait. Shorter hair should be held back securely with clips and/or a hair band. This is extremely important for Acro and Cirque classes and students may not be allowed to participate if their hair is not tied up.
For safety reasons, jewellery must not be worn in lessons. Stud earrings are fine but if the teacher feels they would be better covered small plasters will be provided.
BEHAVIOUR, ETIQUETTE AND DECORUM
The LCI Dance Centre Code of Conduct must be adhered to at all times:
We expect all dancers to:
- respect all teaching staff;
- treat all other pupils as you would wish to be treated yourself;
- come to every class with a positive attitude;
- always ask for help if you need it;
- consistently try your best;
- wear correct uniform and footwear;
- ensure hair is neat and tidy;
- Respect the studio and property;
- no outdoor shoes permitted in class.
No food or drink should be brought into class with exception of water. Water breaks will be given at an appropriate time.
No outdoor shoes can be worn in class.
Any snacks brought into the building should NOT contain nuts due to potential allergies among other children. Children should not share their snacks, again, in case of allergies.
Parents and carers are asked to ensure their children are well behaved at all times whilst getting ready for class.
Students and parents/carers are expected to demonstrate mutually respectful behaviour to teaching staff, fellow students, the Studio and any venue we may be performing in. Poor behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in the student being asked to leave the school.
Bullying will NOT be tolerated and should be brought to the Principal or class teacher’s attention immediately. Any students found to be bullying others will be given a verbal warning. If the situation persists, a written warning will be given and finally the student will be asked to leave the school.
HEALTH
Please notify the Principal and School of any medical issues or learning difficulties that may affect your child’s learning, however big or small it should be. This can help us when teaching them.
Any injuries should be discussed with the teacher prior to, or at the beginning of, class.
EXAMINATIONS, PRESENTATIONS AND CLASS AWARDS
LCI Dance Centre may offer examinations for the IDTA and ID Company syllabus, Little Cirque and Dance Cirque awards. Entry for any examination, presentation or class award is at the discretion of the class teacher and the Principal. Parents/Carers and students will be informed when the required level is achieved.
Examinations, Presentations and Class Awards are not compulsory but are encouraged.
Students who do not adhere to our ‘Examination Terms and Conditions’ risk being withdrawn from the examination without a refund (further details will be available upon invitation to take the examination).
LOST/STOLEN PROPERTY
Students are responsible for their own property and any items brought into the studio are at their own risk. LCI Dance Centre does not accept responsibility for any items lost or stolen. We do not have lockers in the studio so children’s belongings will be in the changing room or waiting area when classes are in progress.
Theft will not be tolerated in any way and this includes items as small as snacks. Students should fully respect their peers and not touch anyone else’s belongings unless given permission. Any student caught stealing will be given a verbal warning. If the situation persists a written warning will be given and finally the student will be asked to leave the school.
MOBILE PHONES
No mobile phones will be permitted into class with any students. Please note that LCI Dance Centre does not accept responsibility for any phones, lost or stolen, but will help to try and trace the device. Students are encouraged to keep their phones in their bags, even when on a break, to allow them to talk to their fellow students and form a bond without the use of a device. Teachers have permission to ask children to put their phones away, even on breaks.
PHOTOGRAPHY
The School may wish to take occasional photographs or videos of our students for advertisement of the School. The use of these can include our website, social media and printed material. Please check the Photo Permissions box on the Class 4 Kids site to give/remove permissions.
